Just rented a gorgeous designer dress from The Volte but no sure what to do with your hair? And have work all day so no time to wash your locks? Hold up, don’t stress yet, this is a blessing in disguise.
Meet the fishtail braid. Versatile, fun, stylish and easy, this hair-do is a go-to for any busy gal because it works best when your hair is on the dirtier side. Phew!
Check out our DYI steps to achieve this look in no time! Hello Weekend!
Firstly, add volume and texture to the crown of the head with texture powder.
Then use the end of the tail comb and bring sections into your hands.
*Volte Tip: if your hair isn’t clean fishtails are the solution if you are heading out that night*
Clamp your hands together and pull small sections of hair up together into one big section.
Use a coloured rubber band to tie the hair together just off to one side.
Section the pony tail into two parts – one for each hand.
Take a very small section from the bottom of one part and swap it to the other part.
*Volte Tip: Always take section from behind each part, not the front, otherwise the braid won’t work*
Continue this action, alternating from each side down the pony.
Leave a little hair out the bottom.
With another rubber band tie the bottom up.
To disguise the band wrap a section of hair around the band and stick into the band.
Cut the top rubber band and pin loose bits of hair.
Pull out small sections of hair out of the braid to create texture and depth.
And there you have it! Quick and easy but looks impressive and we can guarantee paired with your rental dress you’ll have jaws dropping all over the floor at your next event.
Happy renting Volte Culte!
