Meet Jade Hirniak, one of the co-founders of The Volte. Jade is deeply committed to changing the way Australian women and consumers perceive fashion. In honour of International Women’s Day, we had the privilege of sitting down with one of our remarkable female founders to ask her a few questions.
Tell us about yourself…
I’m hardworking, determined and passionate. I thrive in fast-paced environments and I’m motivated to create change. As a founder, you need to be very resilient and view setbacks as learning experiences.
As a female founder, what does a typical day look like?
Every day is different and that’s what I love about being a founder of a start-up; there is no typical day. One thing that remains consistent is my XL morning coffee!
Who inspires you?
The Volte community. I’m inspired daily by my co-founders who have relentless drive and ambition, our amazing team who work tirelessly to turn our dream into reality, and our wonderful community of lenders and borrowers who are changing the way that we consume fashion. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by so many inspiring individuals.
Which dress has been your favourite rental so far?
An Alemais dress that I borrowed for a work trip and loved so much that I hired it again six months later. I reached out to the lender to see if she was willing to sell it to me via The Volte but she was not keen to part with it given it’s a sold-out style!

If you could rent anyone’s wardrobe, whose would it be?
Anna Wintour.
I imagine that after three decades as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, she would have a wardrobe full of rare, vintage designer classics that would be amazing to access.
