What made you become a lender on The Volte?
I have always had a love for fashion and as a result had a little collection of designer dresses. As my collection grew I had an increasing number of plus size friends asking to borrow my garments as they said there weren’t many options out there for their size range. I quickly realised that there was a gap in the market that I might be able to help fill. I did some research and came across the Volte where i started lending a few of my dresses. It grew very quickly and allowed me to add many more dresses to my collection, it’s been a great experience!
How long have you been a Volte lender?
Just over a year now
What style of fashion do you like to list on the platform?
My personal style is more feminine and girly so that tends to be more of what I list. However I do like adding the occasional popular piece so that other people my size have access to it.
What is your favourite personal go to brand?
My all time favourite is Zimmermann. Everything they create is a work of art.
What are your most popular current pieces that hire often?
My most popular pieces are the Zimmermann Pattie Fringed Dress and the Zimmermann Aliane floral wrap dress. Both are classics and very popular.
What is your take on hiring fashion to reduce the war on waste?
I think it’s a brilliant way to contributing to the war on waste. I’m very concisions about fast fashion and I personally would prefer to spend a little more on a quality item that will last. By then renting these pieces out to others I feel like I’m helping in my own small way to limit waste.
What are your top 3 best things about lending with The Volte?
Top 3 things about renting with the Volte is how large their platform is and how many people you can reach. How easy the website is to use and keep track of orders and inventory. Having a great supportive admin team to help you with anything that you might need.
Advice for borrowers who are considering becoming a lender?
Jump in and give it a go! Start small with one or two dresses and go from there. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can get bookings and build up your inventory from there.
