BORROWER IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Meet the stunning Tahlia!
Tahlia definitely has a passion for fashion! Straight out of school Tahlia began studying Fashion Design. Since finishing her studies Tahlia has been lucky enough to work as a freelance designer for Australian labels and styling. Pretty impressive for a 21 year old!.

Where are you based?
Adelaide, South Australia.

What made you become a borrower on The Volte?
I became a borrower on The Volte because I can always find cute unique designer pieces at a fraction of the cost.

How long have you been a Volte borrower?
I started borrowing from The Volte last year when I found my perfect birthday outfit.

“Don’t be afraid to go for something different/unique”

What style of fashion do you like to browse / hire via the platform?
If I am hiring an outfit it’ll be for a specific event such as a wedding or a cocktail party etc. I mainly browse for cocktail dresses, jumpsuits and anything that is a bit unique and different from what I see all over Instagram and other hire pages.

What is your favourite personal go to brand?
I don’t necessarily have a go to brand, for me it just depends on the event and what kind of vibe and mood I want to go for!.
Bec & Bridge, By Johnny and Natalie Rolt are great for a base with plain bold colour pieces that you can style up however you might like. Zimmermann is always a great choice for an absolute show stopper.

What are the pieces that you currently have your eye on?
I have a few weddings coming up so I am on the hunt for some cute dresses!
I am opting for more feminine outfits so Zimmermann will be a go.

What is your take on hiring fashion to reduce the war on waste?
I love the concept and I love how popular it is getting considering it wasn’t really much of a thing a few years ago! I think it’s a great way to stop the whole ‘buy something and wear it once’ thing.

What are your top 3 best things about borrowing with The Volte?
The range and variety of different pieces.
The price; Doesn’t everyone want to wear designer clothes at a quarter of the cost.
The Website; How easy it is to use and contact lenders.

Advise for new members who are considering booking their first hire?
Don’t jump at the first piece you see, take time to search through the thousands of different items because there might just be something amazing hidden away! I’d also say don’t be afraid to go for something different/unique to what you might see or what is just the most popular at the time.
