Best Bars Around The Country

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. You know what that means? Winter hibernation is over. For those who spent winter indoors Netflixing and chilling, now is the time to get out and about! With bars popping up all over the country, you are spoilt for choice as to where to go. Themed bars, classic bars, rooftop gardens, there are so many options. Here we take a look at some of the best bars going all around the country. Go visit them and you are guaranteed a good night!

Sydney

The Barbershop

Behind a barbershop in the city lies award winning gin bar The Barbershop. With over 300 gins from around the world, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The dapper bartenders know how to make sensational cocktails that will leave you wanting more. On top of sensational cocktails in this candelit bar is beautiful bar food including oysters and ceviche.

If you prefer whiskey, then a trip to Eau de Vie is a must! The elegant bar has the feel of a high end cocktail lounge whilst still retaining a cosy feeling of home. The bartenders are expert mixologists and whip up anything you like in record time.

If rock’n’roll is more your thing, be sure to head to Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice. This institution is famous for it’s love or rock and metal, as well as its delicious pizza. With a band room that plays hosts to bands from the world over, you are guaranteed a good night out.

Melbourne

Arbory Afloat

Another bar called Eau de Vie but this one is different. The hidden bar in the city takes you back in time with a soundtrack of jazz and waistcoat wearing bartenders. The cocktail list at this place is superb with everything on the menu delicious, so go ahead and order as many as you can!

Another city and another gin place. But one can’t go past Gin Palace as a drinks destination. The Velvet clad bar has been slinging drinks for 20 years and attracting customers from all backgrounds be it suits from the city, tourists or other bartenders. Open til really late most nights, this place is a sure fire hit!

If outdoors is more your thing, you can’t go past the Spring/Summer pop-up Arbory Afloat nestled on the Yarra River near Flinders station. The bar is inspired by Miami with a focus on fresh food from America and Latin America. The drinks flow freely. You can’t beat the city and river views.

Perth

Alfred’s Pizzeria

Perth has seen a rise of small bars popping up left, right and centre. With so many to choose from, where do you start? I recommend a trip to Frisk in Northbridge. Yes, another gin place (so I love gin) but with over 200 varieties on offer, you’ll find something you love. Pare it with something from their snack menu (Their Mac & Cheese toasties are delish) and you are guaranteed a good time. What’s even better is that every Wednesday night, they have flight nights where you can sample 4 gins with tonics and garnish for just $30. Bargain or what?

So not just a bar but a pizza place, Alfred’s Pizzeria and Small Bar is a must visit. The bar is overflowing with booze from all around the world and the kitchen churns out some of the best pizza in Perth. Combined with cranking rock’n’roll, this place goes off. Guaranteed a good night.

A new kid on the block, Seasonal Brewing Co has just opened up in Maylands. With heaps of beers brewed on site and a huge selection of wines and spirits, there is something for everyone. The huge space has a beer garden and a function area, even somewhere for kiddies. Seasonal Brewing Co isn’t just about the beer though, their food is to die for! Try the Rueben croquettes, you won’t be disappointed.

Brisbane

Eleven Rooftop Bar

Brisbane has plenty of places worthy of being on this list but one favourite that pops up is relative newcomer Savile Row in Fortitude Valley. The place has an elegant speak easy vibe with a giant chandelier hanging over the bar of over 750 spirits. The walls are adorned with artwork that perfectly compliment the cocktail menu and large offerings of wines, beer and spirits. Something different in the valley.

For a phenomenal selection of cocktails, you can’t go past Maker in South Brisbane. The minimal black space is spiced up by a copper bar where all the magic happens. the bespoke drinks use seasonal and native ingredients to create drinks unlike anywhere else in Brisbane. The drinks are expertly matched with divine food and exquisite offerings from the charcuterie cabinet.

One can’t beat a rooftop bar and Eleven Rooftop Bar hits the spot. With wraparound views of the city, this place hits the spot for location. Eleven Rooftop Bar is open from lunch until late, so its perfect for a drink and feed anytime of the day.

Adelaide

Hains & Co

Adelaide has recently seen a rise in small bars and one is spoilt for choice. We love Maybe Mae in the city, a bar inspired by the glamour of Hollywood icon Mae West. The feminine and glamorous bar serves up sensational cocktails, made to your tastes by the dedicated bartenders. The bar is hidden so make sure you ask neighbours where it is!

Clever Little Tailor is a charming bar in the city, perfect for after work drinks or a casual drink amongst friends. The small space has exposed bricks which ooze charm and the bar features an extensive range of wine, beer and spirits. The place feels high end but quaint at the same time. Definitely worth a visit.

Finally, a theme bar! One can’t miss Hains & co, a nautical themed dive bar that specializes in rum and gin. The place features a massive anchor and the bar is made from reclaimed wood from a jetty. Order a Dark and Stormy, pared with some of their delicious offerings of foods and a cigar whilst you are at it. Worthy of a night out!
