Wedding Guest Dress Code

The Volte’s hot tips for dressing to code whilst turning heads this wedding season…

Cocktail – Garden party wear at its finest

The most common in wedding guest fashion is the trusty cocktail dress code. Think conservative midi knee length or even a flirty mini. Be sure to step it up from your day time look and avoid block whites and cream dresses to stay away from a bridal aesthetic. The super popular garden wedding theme is the perfect partner for a cocktail dress when you are busting the moves on the dance floor as the sun goes down. Here are some of The Volte’s current picks to get you on your way.

Black tie – Your Cinderella ball fashion moment

The most formal of the 3, when we receive ‘Black-Tie’ on the invite this is a chance for us ladies to dress in a floor-length formal gown, but exceptions can certainly be made. Take the Golden Globes red carpet for instance – super formal pantsuits were as much on the agenda as their gown counterparts this year as well as glamour dresses that flashed the ankles. The key is to choose something extra special that makes you feel dressed up enough to be in a room surrounded by sharp gents in tuxedos. We think these VIP pieces are the perfect pick.

Smart Casual – The perfect guide to that beach or backyard celebration

Do you have a laid back buddy who is getting married on the beach or throwing a backyard party to celebrate their big day? Then you may just receive the Smart-Casual dress code on the invite. Chunky heels, wedges or dressy flats are totally appropriate for this look and so are those beautiful outfits that lend themselves to both night and day time feel. These can come in mini, midi or maxi style and usually are a little less structured. Think soft cottons, beautiful linens as well as fun playsuits and sets complimented by some statement earrings to pull off this relaxed yet glam look like a pro. Here are some of our faves.
