Zimmermann’s Resort 2018 collection just hit the runway in New York and has the team here at the Volte counting down the days till summer! The designer Nicky Zimmermann took a different approach with the resort collection this year with no real life muse but instead inspired by a spirit in the form of a fiery, lovelorn artist. The collection is titled ‘Painted Heart’ and features a mixture of cute cutout crop tops, airy maxi dresses and plenty of ruffles. Zimmermann never disappoints and we cannot wait to see this collection in stores!
It may be cold and rainy this week but spring is in the air and this collection is transporting us to a hot summer day. A couple of our favorite pieces include the flowy ‘Sun midi dress’, which features alternating panels of white embroidery and sheer material giving it a light airy vibe. We imagine this dress would hang beautifully on any figure and could be worn casually with sandals as seen on the runway or paired with heels for a special event.
For something more formal we adore the ‘Empire Dress.’ This stunning silk high neck dress has a unique peachy caramel colour with frill sleeves and midi length. It has a beautifully elegant silhouette and giving us major Rachel McAdams in the Notebook vibes! Move over dressing gown and uggies it’s coming up to bikini season soon! The ‘Love bikini’ is super cute with its sheer ruffles making up the bodice and carry onto the long sleeves.
