What made you become a lender on The Volte?
I originally started lending with The Volte because I had (still have) expensive taste, so it was a way to help me pay for the pieces I was wanting to purchase.
How long have you been a Volte lender?
I first started hiring my items in 2017/2018.
What style of fashion do you like to list on the platform?
I have turned what was my side hustle into a business so I like to cater to a range of styles for my customers. I have pieces for formal events, weddings guests, parties and casual lunches.
What is your favourite personal go to brand?
That’s a hard one, I love so many brands for different reasons. I can always find something at Zimmermann for the warmer months or my holiday wardrobe, but Aje is always amazing for that super fun piece.
What are your most popular current pieces that hire often?
Currently the Sir Aries Dress, the Camilla & Marc Cypress Dress & still proving popular is the Scanlan Theodore Italian Watercolour Dress.
What is your take on hiring fashion to reduce the war on waste?
Originally I started lending pieces to make extra cash to pay for my purchases, but then after reading an article I realised how much of an impact fashion has on the environment & I wanted to do more. I now tell all my friends to either hire pieces for events that they’ll only wear once, or to list their garments for hire that they buy so that it prevents others from buying & only wearing a piece once. Too many of us have pieces that aren’t being worn enough.

Advice for borrowers who are considering becoming a lender?
It’s a little scary at first, but I highly recommend it! It’s extra money in your pocket (we all need a little more in this economic climate), we get to do our bit for the environment all whilst looking fabulous! And, if you’re worried about your garments being damaged, The Volte has a $5 opt in insurance to protect you from any issues that may arise.
